Who can use it
Staff with the attendance permissions. Each page has its own permission: Summary needs the final-attendance summary permission, Weekly off the weekend-policy permission, My attendance the punch-history List permission, and Overtime, Corrections, Attendance policies, Attendance sources and Import attendance their own List permissions. In the overtime and correction permissions, Request lets a person ask for themselves and Approve lets them decide and ask for others. People without Approve only see their own requests.
Everything on this page is part of HRM on every plan. The access-control device source needs the access control add-on.
Where: HR → Attendance, with Attendances, All employees, Summary, Weekly off, My attendance, Overtime, Corrections, Work arrangements, Import attendance, Attendance sources, Face verification, Face review, Attendance policies and Geofences. Employees also reach My attendance and Attendance corrections from the tiles in My HR.

My attendance
My attendance shows your own month, with the same figures HR sees.
- Clock in card: shows today's status and punches. Click Clock in or Clock out. It appears only when Web clock-in is on in Attendance sources and you have the Clock in or out permission. Your branch may ask for your location, a selfie, or that you are on the workplace network. With face verification, add a photo of your face.
- Cards: Attendance rate, Present, Late, Absent, Overtime (paid) and Time worked.
- Days: each day with check-in and check-out, late minutes, overtime and half days. Use the arrows to change month.
- Request overtime and Request a correction open the pages below. Pills such as "2 corrections waiting" show what is pending.
Correcting attendance
Use Corrections (page title Attendance corrections) to fix a missing or wrong punch, or to record a work-from-home day. An approved correction updates the day straight away, and the day is worked out again (late, early out, overtime). The old values stay on the request.
- Click Request a correction. Staff with Approve can pick someone under On behalf of.
- Choose the Date and the Kind: Missing check-in, Missing check-out, Wrong punch time, Work from home or Full day correction.
- Enter the Check in and/or Check out time. For Work from home, leave both empty to count the scheduled day.
- Give a Reason and click Send request.
To decide: click Decide, add a Note, then Approve or Reject. If an approval flow for Attendance regularization exists, the request shows "Waiting in the approvals inbox" and is decided in the Approval inbox. Pending requests can be withdrawn with Withdraw.
Statuses: Pending, Approved, Rejected, Withdrawn. You cannot correct a future day, or a day older than the allowed window (90 days by default). One correction per day can wait at a time.
Other ways to fix days:
- Re-run Generate attendance for the dates after fixing a shift, a weekly off or a device problem.
- Use Import attendance or Record a punch.
- Late marks can be handled in Leave → Late leaves.
- Pay effects can be fixed in payroll with Adjustments.
Overtime
Overtime has summary cards (Approved and payable, Waiting for approval, Not approved, Taken as comp-off) and two tabs.
- Requests: click Request overtime, pick the Date, the Planned minutes and a Reason, then Send request. A request for a past day is marked After the day. Only one request per person per day.
- Computed overtime: overtime worked out from punches, with the kind of day and multiplier, Counted and Payable time and a status.
Approvers click Decide, can lower the Minutes approved, and Approve or Reject. With an approval flow for Overtime request, it goes to the Approval inbox. When the policy needs approval, overtime without an approved request is shown but not paid.
Attendance policies
Attendance policies (page Attendance and overtime policies) has two tabs. Use New attendance policy or New overtime policy.
- Who it is for: Branch, Shift, Grade, Employment type. Empty means everybody; the most specific policy wins, then the higher Priority. One policy of each kind can be the Default policy.
- Attendance policy: Late grace, Early departure grace, Apply the late-leave penalty, Half-day minimum and Full-day minimum, Breaks are paid, Rounding.
- Overtime policy: Pay multipliers per kind of day, Daily threshold, Weekly threshold, daily, weekly and monthly caps, Shortest overtime, Approval, and Comp-off (leave credited instead of, or as well as, pay).
Fields left empty come from the country pack of the employee's legal entity. Without any policy, attendance follows the shift and branch settings as before.
Weekly off
Weekly off has two tabs: Policies and Assignments.
- Click New policy. Give it a name (for example "Hybrid 3+2").
- Choose a Mode: Fixed days (same weekdays off every week), Alternate (specific weeks, such as 1st and 3rd Saturday), Quota (rostered) (N offs per week or month) or None (always scheduled, comp-off).
- Pick the Off days and choose whether the Weekly off is paid. Save.
- On Assignments, click New assignment to attach the policy to employees.
If a person has their own weekly-off assignment, it overrides the branch default.
Work arrangements and geofences
- Work arrangements has three tabs. Work from home lists requests: click Request work from home, pick dates and a reason; approvers Decide. Patterns sets where a person works: click Set a pattern and choose Office, Remote or Hybrid with Remote days and Starts on. Calendar shows who is remote each day. On a remote day a person can clock in away from the workplace network and location.
- Geofences: choose a branch to see its attendance locations (latitude, longitude, radius) used to check location punches.
Attendance sources
Attendance sources decides how attendance comes in. Choose Whole workspace or a branch at the top.
- Switch each source on or off: Access-control device, Excel or CSV import, Manual entry by HR, App fingerprint or face unlock, App location, Web clock-in. A source that is off refuses its punches and disappears from the screens.
- A branch follows the workspace (From the workspace) until you change a switch. Click Use the default to go back.
- Under Workplace networks, click Add network to limit web clock-in to an IP address or range (for example 203.0.113.0/24). With none listed, any network is allowed.
Import attendance
Import attendance loads punches or daily attendance from Excel or CSV. Every punch goes through the same shift and policy rules.
- Click Download template. Columns: employee_code, date and either check_in and check_out, or time and type (in or out).
- Choose the file and click Preview. Check To record, Already recorded, Skipped and Rows with errors.
- Click Import … punches. Results appear in Import history (Queued, Running, Completed, Failed).
Record a punch (needs the manual-punch permission and the manual source on) records one punch for someone, with a Reason, for example a forgotten clock-in or a refused face check.
How attendance is worked out
- Weekly holiday: from the branch, or from the employee's own setting if one exists.
- Time zone: the day is the branch's local day. A Dubai branch uses Dubai time.
- Which shift applies: the employee's own shift, else the branch default shift, else the branch office hours.
- Late: if the person arrives after the shift start plus the late grace (for example 10 minutes), they are late. The late minutes are counted from the shift start, not from the end of the grace. 09:25 against a 09:00 start is 25 minutes late; 09:08 is on time.
- Early out: leaving before the shift end counts the minutes left minus the early-out grace. With a 15-minute grace, leaving at 17:50 against 18:00 is 0; leaving at 17:30 is 15.
- Overtime: work outside the shift time, or as set in an overtime policy.
Grace periods are settings on the branch and shift (Track late and overtime and Flexible time on the shift). An attendance policy can override them.
Example scenario
Padma Net Support runs a 09:00 to 18:00 shift with a 10-minute grace. Nasrin arrives at 09:25. The calendar shows L, and her day panel says "Late by 25". Friday is the branch weekly off, but Nasrin has her own weekly off on Friday and Saturday, so she is not marked absent on Saturday.
On Tuesday Nasrin forgot to clock out. From My attendance she clicks Request a correction, chooses Missing check-out, enters 18:05 and the reason "Forgot to clock out". Her manager Kamal approves it and the day is fixed. On Wednesday she asks for 120 minutes of overtime for a link outage; Kamal approves 90.
Tips
- Generate attendance daily or let the nightly job do it, and always before month-end payroll.
- Check Summary on the 1st to spot departments with high absence.
- Clear pending Corrections and Overtime before payroll; unapproved overtime is not paid.
- Import is the quickest fix after a device outage.
Troubleshooting and FAQ
Everyone shows N/A. Attendance has not been generated for those dates. Click Generate attendance.
Someone is marked absent on their rest day. Check Weekly off → Assignments and the branch weekly holiday.
Late looks wrong. Check the shift (start, grace, Track late and overtime), any attendance policy, and which shift applies to the person in All employee shifts.
The Clock in card is missing. Web clock-in is off in Attendance sources, or you lack the Clock in or out permission.
"You can clock in from your workplace network only." You are off the office network. Ask for a remote day under Work arrangements.
"Import is switched off". Turn on Excel or CSV import in Attendance sources.
There is no Decide button. The request is in the Approval inbox, or you lack the Approve permission.
