Access control: devices and punch logs

Who can use it
Staff with the device and punch-history permissions.
Where: HR → Access control → Devices and Punch logs.
Biometric devices.
Devices
Devices lists the biometric devices that capture attendance for your organization. Click a card to open Device Details.
| Button / field | What it does |
|---|---|
| Add Device | Opens Add access control device |
| Device name, Brand/Model, Serial Number | Identify the device, for example "Device 01", ZKTeco |
| IP Address, Port, Username, Password | How 9bx reaches the device on your network |
| Device details | Shows connection, model, protocol, Last sync, Enrolled count and Live punches (refreshes about every 5 seconds) |
| Danger zone | Remove the device |
On an employee profile, Fingerprint enrollment lists enrolled fingers and has Enroll new finger.
Punch logs
Punch logs shows every punch: Employee Code, Device, Punch Time. Use it to settle disputes ("I did punch at 9:02") and to check why a day shows late.
Step-by-step
- Click Add Device and fill in the name, model, serial number and network details.
- Save. Open the device and confirm Last sync updates.
- Make sure each employee's Employee code matches the code on the device.
- Enroll fingers from the employee profile.
Example scenario
Padma Net Support installs a ZKTeco device at the Mirpur office. IT adds it with its IP address. HR watches Live punches while a few staff test it, then confirms their punches appear in Punch logs and on the Attendances calendar.
Troubleshooting and FAQ
No punches arrive. Check the IP address, port and credentials, and that the device is reachable from your server. Look at Last sync.
A punch exists but the day shows absent. Attendance is generated from punches; see Attendance to regenerate it.
