Who can use it

People with the dashboard-management permission. The Manage dashboards button on the dashboard opens this page.

Where: Settings → Dashboards.

The page

"Choose what each group of people sees on their home page." The left list shows dashboards with a Built-in tag for those shipped by 9bx, plus the audience and widget count. The right side is the editor. New dashboard starts a blank one.

Create a dashboard

  1. Click New dashboard.
  2. Enter Name (for example "Support floor"), Priority and an optional Description (shown under the greeting).
  3. Keep Active on. "An inactive dashboard is not shown to anyone."
  4. Add widgets and set the audience.
  5. Click Save. You see "Dashboard saved." A banner "Unsaved changes" shows while you edit.

Widgets

Use Add a widget to choose from the catalogue (widget list). For each widget:

Setting Meaning
Scope Widest allowed (default), or limit to Mine, My team, My branch, Everyone. A person never sees more than their own access allows
Width 1 column, 2 columns or Full width
Up / down arrows Reorder (or drag)
Remove Take it off this dashboard

A widget whose module is missing from your plan shows "Not in your plan: hidden until the module is added". Each person only sees the widgets their access allows.

Audience: who gets this dashboard

"Anyone matching at least one choice gets it."

Option Meaning
Everyone Every member of the organization
Roles People holding the roles chosen
Departments People in those departments
Designations People with those job titles
Holders of a permission For example everyone who can see the business overview
Heads of a team Anyone with people reporting to them

Priority and tabs

Lower numbers come first. A person's first matching dashboard is their default; the others appear as tabs on the dashboard page.

Reset and delete

  • Reset to default (built-in dashboards only): widgets, audience and priority return to how 9bx ships them.
  • Delete: people who had it get their next matching dashboard.

Example scenario

Padma Net Support creates "Support floor" for the roles Agent and Team lead: Tickets, SLA compliance, Queue health and My calls, priority 10, widths 2, 2, 3, 1. A separate "Owners" dashboard (priority 5) with Sales, Calls and Headcount goes to the Owner role, who see both tabs.

Tips

  • Keep dashboards short, six to eight widgets.
  • Give the most specific dashboard the lowest priority number.
  • Set a widget Scope to Mine for agents so they do not see colleagues' figures.

Troubleshooting and FAQ

Nobody sees my dashboard. It may be inactive or the audience is "Nobody yet".

A person sees fewer widgets than I added. Their access does not cover them.

Default tab is wrong. Check priority numbers.
