Search, favourites and finding menu items

Jump to any page, start common actions and find any client, lead, deal, ticket or contact from one box, and pin your most-used pages.

Contents: Global search (Ctrl+K) · Favourites · Find in menu · Example · FAQ

Who can use it

Everyone. Results are limited to what your role and plan allow: you only see pages you may open, actions you may do and records you may view.

Global search (Ctrl+K)

Press Ctrl+K (Cmd+K on a Mac) on any page. Type "Search pages, actions and records…".

The results are grouped:

Section What it holds
Favourites and Recent Shown when the box is empty (and matching ones while typing)
Pages Menu pages, found by name or related words (for example "Quota" finds Sales targets)
Actions New client, New lead, New ticket, New contact, Dial a number (or Dial {number} when you type a phone number)
Records Clients, Leads, Deals, Tickets, Contacts, Employees, Extensions and Calls found by number. Type at least a few characters

Use the chips All, Pages, Actions and Records to narrow it. Shortcuts typed at the start of the box:

Type Meaning
> Actions only
/ Pages only
@ People
# Tickets

Keyboard: arrows move, Enter opens, Shift+Enter opens in a new tab, Ctrl+D adds or removes a favourite, Esc clears the box and then closes it.

Favourites

Pin the pages you use every day. Favourites appear in the sidebar and at the top of the search box.

  1. Open the page you want, or find it in Ctrl+K.
  2. Click the star (Add to favourites) on the page, or select the result and press Ctrl+D.
  3. To remove it, click the star again (Remove from favourites).

There is a limit on how many favourites you can keep; when it is reached you see "Favourites are full. Remove one first." Favourites can be reordered.

Find in menu

At the top of the sidebar, Find in menu… filters the menu as you type, including hidden words, so typing "Quota" or "Booking" finds the right item even if the title differs. Use it when you do not know which section holds a page.

Example scenario

An agent takes a call from a client who gives the number 01711-234567. She presses Ctrl+K, types the number, and the Dial 01711-234567 action and the matching client appear. She presses Enter on the client to open the record. Later she types #slow to find the open ticket about slow internet.

Troubleshooting and FAQ

"Records could not be searched right now." The record search failed; try again in a moment. Pages and actions still work.

"Type at least n characters to search records." Add more characters.

A page I expect is missing. Your role may not include it or your plan may not contain the module. Ask an administrator.

Ctrl+K opens my browser's search. Click inside the 9bx page first so it receives the keys.
