Payment links

Ask a customer to pay a bill or charge by link: they open it on their phone, see the amount and how to pay (your bKash, Nagad or bank account), pay, and type the transaction ID. Your team checks it and marks the link paid.

Who can use it

  • See payment links: staff who may see tickets get this.
  • Create and send links: staff who may update tickets get this.
  • Mark paid or cancel: only the people and roles picked under Who can confirm payments in the payment settings. When nobody is picked, everyone whose role has the Confirm payments permission (roles that could update tickets have it). Others do not see Mark paid or Cancel.
  • Payment settings: staff who manage ticket settings.

Where: the Payment links card on a ticket, and Tasks & support → Payment links (classic menu: Tickets → Payment links).

Set up how customers pay

  1. Open Payment links and click Payment settings.
  2. Under Accounts to pay into, click Add account for each way to pay: a name (bKash merchant) and the number or account (01811-000000), with an optional note (Use Payment, not Send Money).
  3. Write Instructions shown on the payment page, for example "Write your customer ID as the reference".
  4. Set Links stay open for (days) (0 keeps links open until paid or cancelled).
  5. Under Who can confirm payments, pick People and/or Roles (several of each) who may mark links paid or cancel them, for example your accounts team. Leave both empty to let every role with the Confirm payments permission do it.
  6. Save.

Payments go straight to your own accounts; 9bx never holds the money. Online checkout through a payment gateway with your own merchant account can be added later by 9bx support.

Request a payment from a ticket

  1. On the ticket, find the Payment links card and click Request payment.
  2. Enter the Amount (in your workspace currency), What it is for and, if you have one, the Bill or invoice no.
  3. Customer name and Customer phone come from the ticket; change them if needed.
  4. Keep Send it by SMS now ticked to text the link right away.
  5. Click Create link. The link gets a number such as PAY-0012.

From the card you can also Copy link (to paste in WhatsApp or chat) or send it again by SMS, WhatsApp or Email. Messages go through your own messaging connections and follow your consent and quiet-hour rules.

What the customer sees

The link opens a simple page with your organization's name, what the payment is for, the amount, your accounts and instructions. Under Already paid? the customer chooses how they paid, types the Transaction ID and taps Send. The link then shows Reported paid to your team, and the ticket's activity says "Customer reported paying PAY-0012 by bKash merchant".

A paid, cancelled or expired link tells the customer it is closed.

Confirm a payment

  1. Check the transaction ID in your bKash, Nagad or bank statement.
  2. On the link, click Mark paid. Paid by and Transaction ID are filled from what the customer reported; correct them if needed.
  3. Click Mark paid. The link shows who confirmed it and when.

You can mark a link paid without a customer report too (for example cash at the office). Cancel closes an open link.

The top shows Waiting to be paid (open and reported links), Reported paid (to check) and Paid in 30 days. Search by number, customer, phone or transaction ID, and filter by status: Open, Reported paid, Paid, Cancelled, Expired. Each row shows whether the customer opened the link and how many times it was sent.

Example scenario

Rahim Uddin's October bill is due. Sumi opens his ticket, clicks Request payment, enters 1,200, "October internet bill", bill no. INV-2041, and sends it by SMS. Rahim pays the bKash merchant number on the page and types 8N7A6B5C4D. Sumi sees Reported paid, finds the transaction in the merchant statement and clicks Mark paid.

Troubleshooting and FAQ

"The message could not be sent". Your SMS connection is not set up or refused the number. Check Messaging settings, or copy the link and send it another way.

The customer says the link is closed. It expired or was cancelled. Create a new link.

I cannot see Mark paid. You are not among the people or roles picked under Who can confirm payments, or (when nobody is picked) your role lacks Confirm payments. Ask an administrator.

Can the customer pay by card online? Not yet through 9bx; ask 9bx support about connecting your own payment gateway account.
